If ever there's a game where Moyes' 'Rope a Dope' tactics might be appropriate, this is it. I have no doubt t he'll want to keep it tight and hit them on the break and pummel them from set pieces. I dont see us having a lot of possession. I can see their manager comprehensively out thinking Moyes though.
I'm a bit nervous about this one, not because I think it's a hugely prestigious competition (although it would be great to win) but because next season under Moyes will be a massive chore without some European football to take our minds off the inevitably turgid league form.

Silly question, I assume BT Sport are showing it for free? Can remember watching the 76 Final nearly 8 years old on a mini portable black and white. 1980 watched it in colour. To this day I don't know why both teams worse their away strips! 2006 was lucky enough top be there and whilst I had to doff my cap to Gerard I was sick for days, although proud that we had played our part in a classic. Never thought I would see a "major" final again. Now it's just a case of deciding over fish and chips, burger or chnese!

Well I'm anxious to be fair.
From what I have Heard, Fiorentina are cautious in possession, very hard to break down, extremely cynical, and have a few very good players.
What to expect? West Ham going out strongly the first 5 minutes, but if pressure can't be retained we will fall back.
5 at the back or 4, I don't know. That's why I'm anxious...

No, more excited. Mid-50s and this is the most excited I've been about a game for a long, long time.
remember watching the 76 ECWC Final as a kid years ago and thought that was massive. At my age, never thought I'd get this excited about a game again.

Yep, we can easily fuck this up, if we were playing Basel you'd be very confident, but this lot are decent. just have to hope we come out and take the game to them, on paper we are the better side, if our front players click we could destroy them. I'd be worried if we went one down though.
As for the OP, no not nervous, more anticipation. if we lose it can never be as bad as 2006.

Swiss, you make some valid points there
We all know that Moyes is inherently cautious so that approach could lose us the game before a ball is kicked
If he sets us up too negatively and doesn't throw off the shackles we could be 2-0 down as you say pretty quickly.
Fiorentina do score a lot of goals but they are also dodgy at the back, we need to exploit that but we all know Moyes can't work like that

Wont be expecting a brilliant game as the vast majority of European finals are right cagey affairs... and with Moyes and a Eyetie team I think we know it's gonna be a tight old game... heart says 3-1.... head says us on pens... No because I’m 99% sure we will lose. They narrowly lost to Inter in the cup who are CL finalists. They play a high line and we sit back . They shoot a lot from outside the box. We will be 2-0 before we can muster anything. Moyes negative tactics will be our downfall.
